This workshop includes two sessions:  Pilates 101 and Reformer 101 Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016!
Session One:  Pilates 101
New to Pilates and or the Pilates Reformer equipment? This workshop is a perfect place for you to start your Pilates journey. In this workshop you will learn the STOTT PILATES 5 Basic Principles of Breathing, Pelvic/Lumbar Placement, Rib Cage Placement, Scapular Movement & Stabilization, and Head & Cervical Placement. We will go over the anatomy of your core muscles and the techniques to engage your core. In addition, you will receive a posture analysis, discuss any current or past injuries, proper body alignment, and modifications for exercises that are customized for your body.
Session Two:  Pilates Reformer Workshop:
Group Reformer Classes are a fun and social way for students to learn how to use this highly effective piece of training equipment. If you are new to the Pilates Reformer, we HIGHLY suggest you start with this workshop prior to joining a Group Reformer Class. Here you will learn and apply the Five Basic Principles of the STOTT PILATES® method using the Reformer. You will become familiar with the adjustable ropes, pulleys, springs and carriage system. You will apply the principles as you work through a sequence of exercises and learn safety and proper form. After the workshop, you are ready to join the Level One Group Reformer Class.
